A central issue of my work is the impact assessment of anthropological activities on fish in the North Sea and the Wadden Sea. My work has focused on the conflicting interests of fisheries, embankments, and offshore wind farms versus the protection and conservation of the marine life and environments. The utilization of marine resources will result in an impact in the environment. In terms of a sustainable use of our oceans, the benefits have to be weighted against the costs for every individual project.
